ABSTRACT

The research was carried out in assessing the proper use of improvised instructional facilities for teaching business studies in junior secondary school in Bauchi metropolis. Three research questions were formulated to guide the researcher in carrying out the study. Cross sectional survey research design was used, sample of twelve Junior Secondary Schools in Bauchi Metropolis were used for the research. The instrument of data collection was a structured questionnaire and a check list. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics, mean, frequency distribution and percentage and this shows the low extent of use of instructional facilities by teachers. The findings of this study showed that the instructional facilities for teaching business studies in Junior Secondary Schools in Bauchi metropolis were largely unavailable. The available materials were grossly inadequate. The study concluded by recommending that the instructional facilities should be made available to all Junior Secondary Schools that are offering business studies, Government and Non-Governmental organizations are encouraged to sponsor business studies teachers for training and workshops to enhance teaching and learning.
