Before delving into an attempt in defining ADR, it is pertinent to note that today, whenever we look across jurisdictions with widely different histories, entrenched cultures of dispute management are subject to re-examination and challenges. In common law countries, this turbulence in civil justice is at least unprecedented in recent times.
