ABSTRACT This research will examine the 1ight to clean and healthy environment1 for women prisoner in luzira prison as envisaged in the Constitution of Uganda 1995, its legal underpinning and the extent to which the same has been realized for the Uganda people. It shall trace the legal foundations as well as institutional framework of this right in the intemational environmental discourse as well as its place in the Ugandan laws. The study will argue that there is need to re-conceptualize the right to clean and healthy environment of women prisoners with a view of enhancing its protection and enforcement for the Uganda population.
