DERMATOPHYTE are unique of fungi that effect the Keratinous tissues of lower animals and human Dermatophytoses is the medical term for fungal infection of the superficial layer of the skin, nail, hair and scalp. The prevalence study Dermatophytoses in Wuntin Dada Primary School Bauchi is to determine the prevalence of the diseases, the different clinical types and actual species responsible for the infections. Out of 950 pupils examined, 105 children were found to be with suspected Dermatophyte lesions which is (11.1%) the specimens of hairs, nails, scalps skin scrapping, and toe web scrapings were collected from different age groups and examined between December 2011 to January 2012, out suspected specimens 51 were found to be infected than females, 32 (3.5%) were males and 19 (2%) were females out of 51 infected pupils. The highest prevalence recorded from age group 6-10 years as (6.6) followed by children whose ages ranged between 11 to 15 years, with (4.9%) and down to (3.5%) at the age ranged of 5 years out of one hundred and five sample that were examined, the common isolates organisms. Microsporum audouni, Trichophyton rubrum, Microsporum canis, trichophyton mentographytess and Triochophyton tonsarance. Therefore, precautionary measure should be taken in order to stop the spread of the diseases.
