ABSTRACT

 This research investigates Conflicts and Conflicts Resolution in Nigeria: A Case Study of Shia Crisis in Zaria Local Government Area Kaduna (2010-2015), Conflicts without doubt, are generally an inevitable incidence of human existence and interaction. This is owing to the fact that our society is made up of human beings with varied characters, interest, wishes and desires. Despite the enthusiasm that greeted religions in Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State and Nigeria in particular. The methodology used in this research by the researcher to collect data was survey research design, in the theoretical framework the conflict trap theory was adopted for the research. For the research findings it was found out that many factors which range from the struggle for power by corrupt politicians, religious leaders and international bodies due to the high level of poverty as pointed out by the respondents are the major causes of religious and the rationale for delaying Alternative Dispute Resolution in Kaduna State in particular and Nigeria in general as indicated in Table 4.11,4.12,4.12 and 4.10 in chapter four . Also Conflicts have impacted negatively on the socio-cultural activities with great effects on the economy of the nation; Alternative Dispute Resolution in Kaduna State Courts in particular and Nigeria in general is a viable option for speedy access to justice in Nigeria which will be less expensive and be time saving. Recommendations, the study recommended on some option to speedy access to peace in Zaria Local Government Area. Finally, there should be Confrontation of the realities of religious minorities, which may have been neglected in the dynamics of the Nigerian power and resource struggle. We must ensure that political, social and economic development strategies are integral parts of a well focused approach to conflict resolution, prevention and peace-building efforts. The inclusiveness of nation building, equitable political representation, social justice, mutual respect and tolerance among the diverse groups that make up the country must be ensured. Also the government should Identified potential sources of religious conflicts through rigorous individual and institutional research
