The data was analysed at 0.05 level is significance, using Chi-square analysis technique.

The findings revealed that there was no significant differences in the way of abusing prescribed and non prescribed drug among adolescents (x² cal = 16.37, x² tab = 21.03). There was significant peer influence on the use and abuse of drugs (x² cal = 24.54, x² tab = 21.03). There was significant parental influence on the use and abuse of drugs among adolescents (x² cal =28.14, x² tab = 21.03). Also,  there was significant effect on the use and abuse of drugs among adolescents (x² cal = 64.1, x² tab = 21.03). The results showed that peer and parental influence to a large extent contribute to adolescents involvement in drug use and abuse and also there are several effects which may be either short or long term on those who experiment with drugs.
