ABSTRACT. The study was investigating the factors leading to the transmission of HIV/ AIDS in the Kapsokwony location Mt. Elgon district. According to the findings of the study it was discovered that, the most affected people in the location are the youths who are greatly involved in unprotected sex, through heterosexual behavior, the means that played a fundamental role in the spread of HIV/ AIDS. Other methods include mother-to-child transmission through breast milk and during delivery. Most of the AIDS victims were stigmatized the reason which made the major failed to seek for medication and counseling on time. Centers with a sizeable population such as Kapsokwony, Kibuk and Kamtiong were mostly hitted with the HIV virus. In conclusion, AIDS is real and has claimed the lives of many without any discrimination between the young and the old. The disease pandemic and it only for a joint effort in order to curb it down.
