Abstract

 The research study was intended to study the assessment of the contribution of ABEK to the improvement of girl child education in Moroto district. The research hypothesis was developed as follow: There is less improvement of ABEK to the improvement of girl child education in Rupa Sub County in Moroto district” The study was carried out in Rupa Sub County in Moroto district This study area was selected because it is one of the coordinating centers of ABEK in the district. The methods used for data collection included self-administered questionnaires. personal interviews, focused group discussions and the tools used in the study included open and closed embedded quarries and documentary records The subjects in this study were the facilitators and ABEK stake holders. The results of the study revealed that ABEK had a considerable contribution to the improvement of girl child education in Rupa Sub County, Moroto district. The recommendation is that the system of learning like ABEK program should be extended to the entire Sub County up to parish level in the district in order to increase the literacy levels among the pastoralists.
