ABSTRACT The purpose of this study waC determining the impact of female circumcision on education of girl; in Kacheiba division, West Pokot District in Kenya The specific objectives of the study were to find out why the practice of FOM is persistent in West Pokot District, To describe the educations implications of FOM, and to assess the effectiveness of the measures which have been put in place to curb the practice The methods used for data collection were questionnaires for the girls affected and interviews with the teachers, ministry of education official, and NOOs. The findings revealed that I4male circumcision had a negative impact on the Education of Girls in Kacheliba division, West Pokot District in Kenya The study recommended that the local women practitioners be trained in various aspects of female health, and go from village to village educating women about the harmfuf effects of female circumcision, and the importance of proper nutrition during pregnancy, how to protect from sexually transmitted diseases and HP!, and proper usages of condoms, among other health topics.
