Motivation represents the outcomes of several behavioral inputs such as attitude and learning, and it is an important concept receiving considerable attention from academics, researchers and practicing managers. This study was carried out to assess how motivated teachers were to impart effectively knowledge and skills to learners in Kampala district. The following objectives guided the study: to find out if the teachers were getting basic needs from schools where they taught; to find out if they felt any secure while teaching; to establish if at all schools were providing the social needs to these teachers in order to perform well, to establish if the schools had put in place job enrichment strategies in order to build the esteem of leaders, and to find out if schools as organization were in position to help teachers aspire and grow academically. The respondents used in the study were forty teachers who filled a semi-structured questionnaire containing items which had been formulated from the objectives
