ABSTRACT
This research work has specifically been done to focus on the traditional oral aesthetics embedded in Olu Obafemi’s Wheels in order to direct and straighten people back to their root which has long been forgotten all in the name of civilization showcasing the huge value that is deeply-rooted in African culture.
The research made use of Wheels as its primary data. More so, online materials, journals, interviews were also consulted and applied as strong backing in the research in achieving its aim and objectives.
The research conducted explains the fact that Olu Obafemi’s Wheels is not just a fictitious novel written for people’s pleasure but the fact remains that, the novel stands out from other varieties of novels as it really explores the beauty embedded in African culture by making use of various traditional oral forms such as proverbs, panegyrics, myths, songs etc. to depict the fact that our culture is unique.
