ABSTRACT The study focused on the safety and health working condition of workers in the employment sector in Uganda and specifically Mityana District and a general examination of the legal framework that ensures that expected minimum standards are observed within the employment sector in Uganda and Mityana district specifically. There has been exploitation by investors and other employers within the employment sector and the study focused on the situation. Thus the findings would be expected to benefit the employment sector in Uganda in general. The purpose of the study was to address the m adequacies of the legal framework that governs employment in general terms, but specific attention was paid as earlier pointed out to workers' rights in Uganda and specifically in Mityana District with intention of finding out whether the existing legal framework has granted real benefits and support to workers in Uganda. This would lead to the suggestion of plausible alternatives that can be incorporated into the law to make it more effective. such that workers in the employment sector in Mityana and Uganda as a country can be able to work in a secure and healthy environment.
