The field of nano science plays a crucial role in modern research and technology, offering unparalleled opportunities for innovation. Spondias mombin extract is used in this study as a bioreducing agent for the biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). The properties of these nanoparticles are compared.

As the color of the extract changed from colorless to brown and then dark silver during synthesis, the reduction of AgNO3 confirmed the effectiveness of S. motherbin extract as a bio-reducing agent. In all synthesized groups, the maximum absorbance ranged between 300 and 400 nm, which was attributed to the excitation of AgNP surface plasmons. Additionally, the amount of salt used during synthesis was directly correlated with the yield of AgNPs, emphasizing the importance of salt quantity.

The 2,2-Diphenyl-1-pyridine hydrazine (DPPH) method was used to assess the antioxidant activity of AgNPsng activity increased progressively with varying quantities of salt used during synthesis, with the 4g batch of AgNPs exhibiting the highest efficiency in scavenging radicals across multiple concentrations (10µg/ml, 25µg/ml, 50µg/ml, 100µg/ml, and 200µg/ml). This finding suggests superior Total Antioxidant Capacity in the 4g-synthesized AgNPs.

As part of the antioxidant assay, AgNPs, silver nanoparticles exhibit dose-dependent antibacterial effects, with the efficiency of inhibition being directly influenced by the amount of salt used in synthesis. Maximum zones of inhibition were observed in AgNPs synthesized with 4g, followed by those synthesized with 2g, while the batch synthesized with 1g showed limited inhibition, primarily against bacterial strain OG9. In comparison with the standard antibiotic levofloxacin, AgNPs demonstrated inhibitory zones against a wide range of bacterial strains, with exceptions noted in gram-negative bacterium OG1(3) and gram-positive bacterium ES(14).
