The effect of 0.25mg/kg weight of diesel on the liver function of male wistar rats was investigated. Ten male wistar rats were used and were grouped into two; experimental and control. The experimental group was fed with rat chawl and a mixture of diesel with water ad-libitum while the control was fed with rat chawl and tap water for about five weeks. Data collected was analyzed using student’s t-Test and a p-value of < 0.05 was accepted as significant. The result shows diesel effect on AST, ALP & ALT increased significantly after the period of 5 weeks. The study therefore indicates that 0.25g/kg of diesel have significant effect on the liver enzymes of the body and this is dangerous to the health of the male wistar rats.
