Abstract: The study sought to assess the Millennium Development Goals in Nigeria with Akwa Ibom State as case study. This study adopted Basic Needs and Organizational Partnership theories as the theoretical framework to achieve the purpose of this study. Research questions were raised which preceded the hypotheses. Statement of the problem of this study was based on numerous problems faced by Nigerian, such as, high illiteracy rate, poverty rate, gender disparity, high mortality and maternal rates, poor health condition and poor environmental sustainability.   The data for this research was collected using the questionnaire method, while the primary and secondary sources of data, were the method of data collection. A total population of the study was 5,542, 102.  The sample size of 150 respondents was taken. The study adopted survey research design. Simple percentage formula was used in presenting the result of the data, while the chi square served as the statistical instrument for testing and analyzing the hypotheses. The result of the analysis showed that, the Millennium Development Goals has really reduced poverty rates in Aka Ibom State, with many policies of Akwa Ibom State Government concerning universal education. This goal of Millennium Development Goals was achieved, and some levels of success were recorded concerning elimination of gender disparity in Akwa Ibom State. Based on the findings, some recommendation  were made, such as; reference should always be make to previous developmental policies and programs, in order to ensure, full tackling of the current and future developmental goals.
