In the contemporary Nigerian society, the traditional family values have been abandoned which was mainly influenced by the western ideology. As a result, the stability that characterized the traditional family system has withered away exposing the family to the susceptibility of breaking down. The consequence of these changes in family status has affected the members of the family especially the children.
Hence, The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of divorce on childrens socialization in Gwale Local Government Area of Kano State, divorce which signifies dissolution or dislocation of marriage has being one of the oldest social problems bedeviling the society, the research seek to examine some of the pre-disposing factors responsible for divorce in Gwale local Government, to examine how divorce has negative impact on childrens socialization, to also find out the impact of divorce on the society, and to find out best possible ways towards controlling and coping with the menace of divorce home.
