The study was conducted to investigate Immunization Attitude of Mothers in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State. The cross sectional design survey was used for the study. One hundred and thirty mothers were drawn using multi-sampling procedure involving three stages. The instrument for data collection was self-structured questionnaire to investigate the attitude of mothers. The findings revealed
- The overall attitude of mothers towards immunization of their children is positive (x=0.89)
- The mothers regular response to immunization of their children (x=1.19)
- The mother differed in their attitude towards immunization of their children based on age (younger mother(x)= 0.94, older mothers (x)=0.88). The differences was significant at 0.05 level (tcal= 1.02, tcrit=0.98).
Based on the findings of the present study, it is recommended that messages should include the cause, risk factors, transmission/spread, preventative strategies, side effects and contraindications to immunization.
