Urban waste management, collection and disposal have always been a universal problem. Extant literatures have documented the importance of solid waste management to the urban environment. Yet the performance of the authorities charged with the responsibility of solid waste management in this respect leaves much to be desired. Therefore, this research study appraises e-waste management activities with respect to Onitcha main market, Anambra state. To achieve the primary aim of this study, the study used simple random technique to randomly distribute one hundred and twenty (120) questionnaires each to industry (therefore examined the possibilities of e-waste management in the main market of Onitsha metropolis of Anambra state. Data were analyzed using simple percentage and mean, under the modified four point likert scale. Despite the many reasons to support the e-waste management in the studied area, e-waste is limited due to: (1) insufficient collection (2) no Federal legislation or policy mandating e-waste recycling (3) lack of management and recovery technologies and (4) illegal importation of hazardous e-waste to the country where recycling processes pose serious risks to human and environmental health. In order to increase the e-waste management rate in the Nigeria, Federal regulation is needed in order to provide a cohesive approach to e-waste control. Federal regulation will provide the necessary structure and framework by setting mandatory recycling targets and establishing the implementation of financing and enforcement mechanisms for e-waste collection and recycling
