CHAPTER ONE INTRODUCTION 1,0 Introduction This chapter contains the background of the study, statement of the problem, main objective, specific objectives scope of the study, and conceptual model. 1.1 Background Ebenezer supermarket limited is located on the outskirts’ of Kansanga town in Uganda. It started its operations in the year 2004 having only one branch. The supermarket deals with selling of consumer products like household products, foodstuffs, electronics etc. The supermarket has other two branches having about ten employees per branch. Currently the supermarket is experiencing a fast growth in customer number and there is a need to offer better services to customers due to the stiff competition in the supermarket industry.
